Vinyl Application

VINYL DECAL APPLICATION

  • Make sure your surface is clean and dry before applying your decal. Cleaning the surface with rubbing alcohol can help but make sure it is 100% dry before trying to apply your decal.
  • Peel the top layer back slowly (clear/frosty layer); it should pick up your decal off of the backing sheet, If it doesn’t all come up first go, try rubbing over the clear top layer firmly and try again.
  • Place the decal on whatever surface you’re using and gently rub over the top layer. Usually working from side to side or from the centre out is best. Keep in mind that these decals won’t stick to rubber nor will they stay on fabric.
  • Use your nail, or a bank card to scrape over the top layer. Be firm, but not so aggressive that you catch corners of the decal.
  • Peel back the clear layer slowly at a 45 degree angle to the surface. It should come off nicely, leaving your decal behind.
IMPORTANT NOTES

The Vinyl adhesive will take 72 hours to cure, so it is best to leave them be for 3 days before using any cup or glass etc.

The adhesive on our vinyl is graded for outdoor use and has permanent adhesive. It is not recommended to apply these directly to walls etc as it can damage the paint. It can also leave a residue on glasses or mugs if removed.

Vinyl is hand wash only. If applied to a mug, glass, lunchbox etc. DO NOT put them in the dishwasher, microwave or freezer and do not leave them submerged in water for long periods of time. These can all damage your decal. DO NOT place decals directly on surfaces that you will be eating off of such as the tops of plates.
